Project: Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados
Location: Hormiguero, Puerto Rico
ADS supplied over 3,000 LF of Sanitite Triple-wall pipe to replace old concrete pipe infrastructure which had been installed 20 years prior. The new ADS High performance Polypropylene Sanitite pipe will have a design life of 75-100 years making it the best cost-effective solution to significantly improve the sanitary infrastructure. The pipe which meets ASTM F2764 delivered the performance even at depths of over 25 feet in a highly corrosive sanitary sewage environment. The bell and spigot joining system provides an added factor of safety for design engineers by including polymer-reinforced bells and double gasket spigots on every stick of pipe.
Project: Culverts, Surinam Airport Highway
Location: Paramaribo – Surinam
The contractor contacted us because for the construction of the 42” diameter culverts, it had very little depth available due to the high water table. It was less than 1 meter deep, therefore, a concrete pipe was not a suitable option. Furthermore, due to the traffic loads and the little filling on the pipe (average 32”) HDPE pipe did not offer the necessary rigidity. Therefore, the reason ADS offered the ASTM F2881 HP Storm polypropylene pipe which provided twice the stiffness of HDPE pipe and also offered total water tightness in the joints and 6 meters long sections.
Project: Drainage Cibao Airport
Location: Dominican Republic
The Cibao Airport Maintenance Management contacted us because they were about to build the taxiway drainage expansion in diameters of 60 “, 48” and 36 “. The main objective was that they did not want to repeat the infiltration problems in the current storm drainage system, which was made with concrete pipes. The engineer wanted a pipe infrastructure that would not only guarantee the structural resistance necessary to withstand the loads that an airport carries, but also to provide complete water tightness in the joints. ADS provided the solution with HDPE Water-tight pipe in compliance with ASTM F2648. Our pipeline, in addition to guaranteeing 100% tightness, comes in sections of 6m in length, which reduces installation time to more than 4 times, in the aforementioned diameters; In addition to being so light it does not need the use of heavy equipment for its mobilization and installation. With all the benefits mentioned, the client was satisfied with the performance of the pipeline in its entirety, reduced its installation costs by more than 40% and has installed a product with a useful life of at least 100 years.
